Description

Ayurveda is the key to holistic health. During ancient times, the practitioners of Ayurveda discovered that the Kansa (Bronze) metal has the ability to balance the pH (acidity) levels in the human body. Since then, they started suggesting that people should eat their meals on Kansa plates to improve digestion and reduce the acidity of the food. The Rise of Padabhyanga Massage

Pada is the foot, and abhyanga is an oil massage in Sanskrit. The Ashtanga Hridayam covers it in its chapter on the daily routine. It says an oil massage should be done every day, and especially on the head, the ears, and the feet. Such a massage is traditionally done in the evening to help the body settle at the end of the day. The bowl used in this massage is commonly known as vatki in India, cast from Kansa (कांस्य). Kansa (commonly known as bronze) is an alloy of copper and tin. It is the same metal that Ayurvedic practitioners suggested for eating meals.
