What Kansya massage is
Kansya is bronze. It is cast from copper and tin, and in Ayurveda it is the metal used for massaging the feet. You may also see it written as Kansa. The small bowl that does the work is a vati, sometimes spelled vatki or wati.
The practice has a name. Padabhyanga — pada is the foot, abhyanga is oil massage. A little warm oil goes on the sole, and the bronze vati is worked slowly over the foot. In Ayurveda it is traditionally done in the evening.
Ayurvedic texts describe points on the sole of the foot called marma points, and padabhyanga is the practice of working over them. This is a tradition, not a medical treatment, and we describe it as one.
Why a machine
Doing it properly by hand takes a trained person, real effort, and twenty minutes every single day. Very few families keep that up.
Our massager holds a real Kansya vati against a small motor. The bronze is the same, the oil is the same, and the vati still moves slowly over the sole. What changed is that one person can do it for themselves, sitting in their own chair, in about ten minutes.

Questions people ask us
Is this a medical device?
No, and we do not describe it as one. Padabhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic practice, and this machine is a way of doing it at home without a trained person. We do not claim it treats or cures anything. If you are under a doctor's care for anything, ask them before you start.
How long should I use it for?
About five minutes on each foot, once a day. Most people do it in the evening, after a bath or before bed. Longer is not better — ten minutes in total is the usual advice.
Which massager should I buy?
For use at home, one of the portable Kansya Vati machines — KT04 up to KT09. They differ by which vatis are included, not by the motor. For a spa or a clinic where it runs all day, the full-size Kansya Thali machines.

Do I need to use oil?
Yes. The oil is what lets the bronze glide over the skin instead of dragging on it. Sesame oil is traditional, but any oil you already use at home is fine. A spoonful is enough for both feet.
Is it safe to use on your own?
It is one switch, and the foot rests on the vati rather than being strapped to anything. There is nothing to lift and nothing to sit on the floor for. If anything feels uncomfortable, take your foot off — that is all there is to it.
Do you deliver to my city?
Yes. We deliver free across India. Most orders arrive in 3 to 8 days, depending on how far you are from Pune.
Can I pay cash on delivery?
Yes, on most pincodes, for orders up to Rs 8,000. We confirm cash-on-delivery orders with you on WhatsApp or by phone before we send them. You can also pay online by UPI, card or net banking.
What if it stops working?
Every massager carries a 2-year warranty. Message us on WhatsApp with your order number and we will sort it out — it comes back to the people who made it, not to a call centre.
